Blue Devils Survive 3-Set Hornets

SHELBYVILLE, IL. — Windsor volleyball was taken to another 3-game set, but this one went their way, beating Cowden-Herrick, 25-12, 17-25, 27-25.

The Windsor offense worked, thanks in large part to their setters who dished out 32 assists towards 34 kills (94%), the highest percentage in the Shelby Area all season. The Devils had eight different players combined for those 32 kills.

Jenny Bullock led the way again with 10 kills. Middle hitter Kassy Strowmatt had an effective night scoring seven kills. Sophomore Paige Woolard had five kills and middle hitter Erin Mowry had four. Charley Bailey and freshman hitter Autumn Bennett had three kills, each. Lindsay Floyd and defender Amanda Tucker added a kill, each.

The Devils delivered 10 aces. Bullock had five and Lindsay Floyd was back on her game with five aces, as well.

Libero Dani Bell led the mid-court defense again with 15 of the 37 team digs, a good defensive night for the Devils, as well. Windsor won the match with just one block, but that didn't seem to be a factor.

Windsor's next match will be Friday, hosting South Central.
