Shelbyville JFL has their first home game of the season, Saturday, and the Ram Heavyweights come in 2-0, after walloping Clinton last week, 42-8. The Lightweights come in 1-1, after droppng their game last week at Clinton.
The Heavies took it to Clinton, turning the Maroons black and blue. The Rams ran for 300 yards and had huge runs for scores. Tyler Hendryx had a 57-yard TD run in the 1st quarter and Wyatt Fox had a 56-yard TD run to cap a 34-point 1st half. Lucas Duckett had two touchdown runs, one of 30 yards and the other of 14 yards. He also ran in two extra-points, for 16 of the 42 points himself. Tice Robinson also had two TDs, running for the first Ram score (12 yards) and the last Ram score (17 yards).
Twenty different Ram defenders recorded 55 tackles as a team. Keegan Betts led the defense with six tackles. Five Rams had four tackles each, five Rams had three tackles each, five Rams had two tackles each and four Rams had one tackle each. On top of that, Konnor White and Tice Robinson each picked off a pass to frustrate the Maroons’ attempts to get something going.
The Shelbyville Ram JFL opens their home season tonight, Saturday, August 28. Lightweights host Maroa-Forsyth at 5 p.m., with the Heavyweight game set for 7 p.m.
