SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
Stew-Stras (20-15) volleyball notched their 20th win against the upscale competition Mt. Pulaski tourney on Saturday, as they prepared for the postseason.
Stew-Stras lost the first four matches. In pool play they lost to Mt. Pulaski, 9-25, 17-25, they lost to O’Fallon, 21-25, 8-25, and lost to Roxana, 16-25, 25-17, 21-25. In the Crossover match, Stew-Stras lost to Illini Central, 20-25, 25-19, 23-25. They had a rematch with Roxana in the championship round and finally got their 20th win, 25-23, 25-21.
Stew-Stras, the #1 seed at the Neoga Regional, is to play Tuesday at 6 p.m. against the winner of the Monday match between Cowden-Herrick and Beecher City. The winner of the Tuesday match plays the championship on Thursday at 6 p.m.
