SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
In a seven-minute meeting, the Shelbyville City Council approved three items of business.
The three council members in attendance approved the refinancing of bonds for the Aquatic Center as presented by city treasurer David Frost at the May 7 council meeting.
“This will save us $60,000,” said deputy mayor Bill Shoaff.
The council also approved the prevailing wage resolution and a request for a temporary street closure of North Pine between North First and Main streets on July 21.
In other business city engineer Alan Spesard reported that construction on the newest phase of the General Dacey Trail will begin after July 4. The trail will run from the Lake Shelbyville Visitors Center to the Kaskaskia River bridge on Route 16.
