SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
SHELLBVYILLE, IL --- Put on your best red dress or tie for Shelby Memorial Hospital Foundation's (SMHF) third-annual Red Event, a night of entertainment, fun, friends and fund raising to benefit Cardiac Education, Rehabilitation and Treatment.
The Red Event will be held at 6 pm on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Spruce Street Studios in Shelbyville. Guests will enjoy a Las Vegas performer William Johnson who will perform a tribute to the late, great Bob Hope. The reservation deadline has been extended and seats can still be purchased. Reservations are $55.00 per person or $400.00 for a table of eight. This price includes a steak and chicken dinner and entertainment.
The Red Event honors those who have been affected by heart disease proceeds from the evening will benefit the cardiac rehabilitation unit at SMH. Cardiac rehabilitation is essential those who have undergone heart surgery or treatments. Close access to essential health services such as diagnostics and rehabilitation equipment is important to the healing process. Studies show that patients who have participated in a structured cardiac rehabilitation therapy program significantly reduce their risk of future cardiac events.
For the evening's entertainment, William Turner will capture your funny bone in his “Hope” impersonation as he jokes about Washington D.C., the game of golf and army life. Turner has delighted audiences as “Bob Hope” in his career for more than twenty-five years. He has entertained in actual USO events nationwide, as well as Guam and Tokyo, Japan. His brand of humor is wholesome and fun and geared for all ages.
Another attraction to the evening will be a very special silent auction which will feature many wonderful items for bidding including a hot air balloon ride, a pair of Saturday baseball tickets to Wrigley field to see the Cubs play the Cardinals, a captained sailboat cruise for six on Lake Shelbyville, or a pair of season tickets to the Little Theatre to name a few. With more than fifty items you will want to take time to peruse its bounty before sinking into your seat for a night of fun. Awards will be given to the best dressed in red and the wait staff will work hard for tips, all of which will be donated to the SMH Foundation Red Event fund. Also planned is a wine tasting event for the guests from the Niemerg Family Winery in Findlay.

Ultimately, our focus is to provide quality health care with close-to-home access to the best resources for our friends and neighbors in Shelby County.”
