SHELBYVILLE, IL. —
The Shelby County 4-H Dog Show was held at the fairgrounds on Saturday, July 17. Seventeen 4-H members competed in dog care and dog obedience classes. Seven handlers and their dogs earned scores that qualify them to compete at the State 4-H Show in Springfield.
On Tuesday, July 20, these 4-H members were presented Sgt. Todd Shafer Memorial leather leads to use at the state show. The Tailwaggers Club then presented a dog obedience and agility demonstration in the arena.
The 4-H members who will be representing Shelby County at State are front row from left: Megan Dash and Reggie, Sarah Martin and Sammy, Whitney Fulton and Midnight, Jami Hennings and Jesse, Kelsey Ward and Lucky, Brock Hammond and Jasmine, and Shelby Dash and Lizzie. The successful graduates, second row from left, are: Gage Sattler and D.O.G., Rachel Price and Toby, Robbie Sue Stiner and Max, Olivia Telgmann and Millie, Abbi Allen and Chewey, Alex Walden and Duke, and Savannah Carswell and Sophie.

Former Strasburg city clerk Paula Rae Johnson waived her preliminary hearing when she appeared before Circuit Court Judge Koester. Johnson is charged with Theft Over $10,000 and less than $100,000. Judge Koester set March 9 as the pre-trial date and March 19 as the trial date.
